Millersville, MD – On Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 1:00 pm, Vicki L. Callahan, Executive Director of Opportunity Builders, Inc. will be honored as part of the celebration at DisABILITY Awareness Day at the Annapolis. Ms. Callahan has been named the 2009 DAD honoree for her leadership and commitment to individuals with disabilities. As part of the ceremony, the OBI Bell Ringers which is made up of nearly 40 individuals served by OBI will be performing.
The annual award is presented by the Anne Arundel County Commission on Disability Issues to the individual it believes has demonstrated a long-standing commitment to improving the quality of life for individuals with disabilities and those that strive to serve their needs. According to the Commission, “It is widely known that Vicki has dedicated her personal and professional life to address the needs of those with disabilities, touching the lives of individuals, families, caregivers and service providers, just to name a few.”
OBI provides vocational training and employment services to nearly 350 adults with developmental disabilities. Our goal is to give our clients the opportunity to be productive contributing citizens and to help them achieve personal fulfillment and foster independence. At OBI, “Our Smiles Work!”
